Wireless home automation uses Radio Frequency (RF) communications
instead of electrical cables. Examples include wireless C-Bus devices,
wireless security sensors, wireless computer LAN components, and wireless audio and video remote controls
and distribution devices. Wireless home automation is not to be confused with wireless IP user interfaces. For example, a smart phone or Internet tablet with wireless connection to a Wiser for C-Bus Home Automation Controller over your LAN WiFi or wireless Internet connection is not wireless home automation - It is instead a wireless user IP interface to a wired home automation system, through a Wiser Home Controller. While you may have a partially wireless connection to the Wiser, the Wiser and the other C-Bus home automation devices have wired connections between them. You may also implement a hybrid wired and wireless home automation system, in which a wireless C-Bus home automation network is integrated with a wired C-Bus system through a C-Bus Wireless Gateway. If professionally implemented this can give you the best of both worlds. |
