- While we recommend using wired home automation products in preference to wireless
home automation devices, Wireless home
automation C-Bus products allow easy retrofitting of quality home
automation equipment into homes, even when access to install new wiring is not available. They
also make it easy to progressively extend the scope of your home automation
system as your needs and/or savings grow.

Do wireless home automation products make wiring unnecessary?
- Many wired home automation components may be installed even when you are not building or
renovating, by using already installed cabling, and/or by adding some more cabling if access permits.
For example, wired C-Bus home automation
components may be connected to the nearest existing C-Bus device.
Mobotix IP surveillance cameras
require only a Cat5/6/7 cable, and may even use spare telephone,
security, or power cable using Mobotix Mx2wire modules.
